There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” The hot days of summer are winding down and there is a lot of model railroading to look forward to. Next week is the NMRA National Convention in Texas, the week after that is the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Colorado and the following week is our annual Free-mo meet in Evanston. The Free-mo meet will have HO and N scale this year. It is closed to the public but NMRA members are invited to come see the layouts on Saturday, Sept 9th from Noon – 5 pm. Please RSVP to either me or Mike Nelson so we can plan accordingly. There will be a number of out of state attendees and I hear their modules are awesome! All the members are working on new modules so there will be a good mix of new and seasoned modules to see.
Our clinic coordinator, Charlie, is having some health issues and needs to take a break from his duties. We appreciate all he has done and pray for good health for him. I’m sure he would appreciate a call or email. In the meantime contact me for clinic volunteers and suggestions. This is a volunteer organization and we all serve each other. You don’t need to be an expert, just willing to share what you have learned about a subject. It could be something you’ve done for years or just learned about last month. We are in this hobby together and serving one another is the best way that we can enjoy the journey together!
