There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” My oldest daughter got married! I’ve shared my love of trains with her since she was born. In fact, her first word was Shay (Although my wife disagrees.) I was holding her as we walked by my display case in the hallway and she pointed to the Shay when I heard her say Shay. Below is a picture of her driving that same Shay on my early switching layout. Once she met me in Provo to see the Big Boy saying it was better than doing homework! She doesn’t share the same love for trains but maybe her future kids will.
This week is See Tracks? Think Train® Week (formerly Rail Safety Week). For more information go to the Operation Lifesaver website at https://oli.org/ There is a ton of info on their website including downloads for all ages. Let’s help others be aware of how dangerous the trains can be. We want others to enjoy this hobby as much as we do so let us all be safe so we can enjoy the journey together!
