There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” As I anticipated, we rode a number of trains while on our trip. In fact, on one of the trains it showed we were traveling at 299Km/h which I calculate to be 186 mph! Now that’s fast!
I’d like to thank everyone for their help with the train show. I know a lot of time was put in by a lot of people and it all helps to make a show successful. I heard a lot of good comments from a lot of people. If you think I’m saying “a lot” a lot, well, I am! Every year I wonder if it’s really worth it to put on such a show. Why do we do it? I love being able to see people I don’t know get excited about model railroading. Sharing our love of the hobby with the general public is very rewarding. Spending time with fellow modelers (from your own club as well as the other clubs) is also a very rewarding time.
If you want to know more about how the show did you can hear the report at our monthly board meeting. Members are always welcome to attend but please be respectful that we are trying to get the division business taken care of before the general meeting. There is time for socializing afterwards. We always welcome input from all the members so we can make our programs and events better for you; that way we can enjoy the journey together!
