There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” Sometimes you drive for hours to go to another state and set up modules with other people (some you know and others you might not) and then run your trains! One of the cool things about Free-mo (and Free-moN and others) is that by making modules to the standards set forth, one can connect to anyone else’s modules without any issues. I recently drove to Greeley, CO to set up my Bronx Terminal module at the RPM meet. On one side of my module was someone I knew and the other was someone I didn’t know. What a great way to make new friends! I’ve mentioned before that I used to be a lone wolf modeler which is totally fine, but after becoming active in the NMRA (and other clubs) the amount of fun has gone up exponentially. I’ve made many friendships and my modeling has improved. Now that we are meeting at Stadler we have more space so I hope to see you there!
Our annual Intermountain Train Expo is coming up and we need help putting on a big train show. I’m pleased to see a lot of the spots on the sign up are filled. Please help with the remaining spots. Who knows, you might even make a new friend! Working as a team we can enjoy the journey together!
