June Superintendent Message

There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” This last month has been full of train activities. I saw lots of the full sized ones in Durango. Here I am with one of my buddies who works down there. I built and helped install switches (turnouts) at Shay Park – for those who don’t know, it’s ⅛” scale, or ride-on trains, at the park. Of course, don’t forget the Stadler Open House and Train Show. Attendance increased again this year! Within a few weeks I saw the historic trains as well as super advanced new trains. It’s cool to see the different technologies and they are both awesome!

As we get back into our monthly meeting routine hopefully we will see you at our new meeting place at the Stadler cafeteria. I know the summer months people often have lots of activities so I understand if you can’t make it. If you are having any health issues let us know how we can help. In the meantime keep on [model] railroading, share what you are doing with others, keep having fun with this hobby and we can enjoy the journey together!
