September Superintendent Message

There’s so much more to this hobby than just “building trains in your basement!” This month’s selfie finds me back up in Evanston this time with HO Free-mo – the 9th Annual Mountain States Free-mo Event. Guys came from California, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, I think Texas and probably a few others I’m missing. This picture is me with “the one that started it all” – it is my understanding that this module was converted from the NMRA standard, using adapter modules to create the Free-mo standard. You can read more about it here: http://www.free-mo.org/about/history/

Bob Connolly was appointed to the vacant Director position that was made when Blaine stepped down so he could focus on his duties as Vice President of the Region. Blaine has also been officially appointed to the position of Pizza Box Chairman in the Division. He was already doing that but now it’s an official title.

One of the guys at the Free-mo event is a Superintendent in a Division in Nebraska and was asking how we get people to the meetings. I emphasized our motto of Fun, Learning and Fellowship. I told him keeping in touch with as many as we can and having people step up to volunteer. I don’t take that for granted, I appreciate all that everyone does! I look forward to meeting new people, seeing everyone at the monthly meetings, as well as the additional activities we have, and that is how we can enjoy the journey together!
