The Passing of Bruce Alger

It is with sad news that we have learned of the passing of Bruce Alger, a Northern Utah, NMRA member. A few weeks ago he earned a Merit Award for his Coaling Bin at the Intermountain Train Expo. He has completed (and was working on) structures for Guil Rand’s layout and an operator there too. His own, Marklin layout was well under construction – see pictures below. He was a professional Scouter before retiring and was recently painted into Eric Dowdle’s newest painting Camp Maple Dell. He was a major volunteer to the outdoor railroad project at Thanksgiving Point more than a decade ago. Most recently, he volunteered to run as a Division Board Member in the current Northern Utah Division elections. You will be missed, Bruce!

Memorial Service for Bruce will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30th at 680 N 350 W, American Fork. Burial will be earlier that same day, 10:00 a.m. at Camp Williams Veteran’s Cemetery.
