Division Operations Group (D.O.G.)

Although very successful, this program has been discontinued.
If you would like to operate layouts within our Division use the contact form on our site and we will help you get in contact with layout owners directly.

This program is the first of its kind anywhere, as far as we can determine, and is a phenomenal opportunity for members of the Northern Utah Division who are interested in learning how to operate on model railroads and in learning different dispatching systems.

The D.O.G.s meets the fourth Saturday of every month to develop hands-on operations skill on one of the many local, world-class operating layouts. Division members are assisted by regular crew members from these layouts, who are without exception a fine group of individuals who are willing to help us get through the “learning curve” and become capable, self-confident operators.

There are some simple requirements for becoming eligible to operate on one of these fine layouts, mostly oriented around common courtesy and basic social responsibility.

To become involved in this program, send an email to the D.O.G. Crew Master and let them know that you are interested in learning how to operate model railroads!
